“FEEL is a leading-edge modality for developing human potential. In experiential interactions with horses, people gain self-knowledge and acquire skills leading to positive life changes.”

What is the definition of feel?

FEELFaciliated Equine Experiential Learning® is a collaborative approach to therapy in which people work with horses to find their inner space. Like other forms of animal-assisted therapy, people and horses interact in order to promote healing but within horse-facilitated experiential (also known as ‘Equine Assisted Learning‘) learning the primary focus is positively reinforcing the bond between humans and equines. Those hoping to develop their connection with themselves may find that they like the comfort they feel while accompanying a horse on their journey towards growth and healing. Clients seek out FEEL because it allows them to learn through an interactive process rather than simply listening or taking notes – the desired outcome can be accomplished faster thanks to the immediacy of working within your heart’s desire.

What is the foundation of feel?

The learning environment includes interaction and communication with a horse, allowing for genuine dialogue that is unhampered by language skills or other cultural differences. Through this process clients can gain insight into their own behavior and emotions. This allows clients to learn more about themselves, improving the ability to overcome barriers such as societal norms just as easily as physical ones.

This means at the very core of FEEL lies the involvement of doing and feeling. Experiential learning is a critical component of the FEEL circulum. Here are some of the core components of the sessions:

  • Horse communication
  • Safety considerations
  • Physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness of the horse
  • Understanding ‘herd’ behaviour
  • Creating an effective herd
  • Reading and understanding the horse’s feedback
  • Understanding and holding intention
  • Deepening the horse/human connection
  • Heart-based leadership
